Last week, the Junior Civitan Club had a record planting! They planted 4800 pounds of potatoes and a field of onions. They also accomplished this task in one and one half hours. In addition to the struggles of planting, the students had to endure 45 degree windchill for most of the day."It was really cold and a little uncomfortable, but our students did our best and got the job done. The kids had a blast and the representative from the Cleveland County Potato Project was pleased to have five schools participate including: TJ, SHS, BHS, CMS and North Shelby, " said Kimberly Lawson, 7th grade Science teacher and club sponsor.
