About Us

Our History

Crest Middle School opened in the fall of 1976 as Crest Junior High School with grades seven, eight, and nine. In the 1990-1991 school year, the school converted to a middle school organization with grades six, seven, and eight. Our elementary feeder schools are Township #3, Boiling Springs, and Springmore. There are approximately 74 certified staff members and 30 support staff including secretarial, custodial, cafeteria, and bus drivers. Our teacher organization follows the model middle school agenda of interdisciplinary teams. Each team has several teachers who teach all of the academic areas of math, science, social studies, and language arts. These team teachers are also supported by a group of "specialty" teachers responsible for teaching Health and PE, Art, Music, and Career/Technical Education. Although Crest Middle School is a large and very busy school, we focus on the care and success of our students as emerging adults. Our community support is very positive and our PTO contributes to support our school programs.
