Year 11

The year 11 exam is a 2 hour 15 minute paper that assesses students on their ability to investigate and plan a media text. There are two sections on the paper which use the same skills students have developed throughout their Textual Investigation pieces of coursework and their productions.  The overarching theme for this exam is News.


Section A: Thinking about media - Investigating Television News
Students will be given one or two pages from a newspaper to annotate and make notes on for the first 15 minutes (approximately) of the exam.

You will then be asked 4 questions:

Section B: Thinking about media - planning Radio News

Students  will be assessed on their ability to plan and creative a media text through a series of tasks, which demonstrate an awareness of convergent (linking) media.
