Math 8

This course is designed to develop a deeper understanding of mathematics through multiple representations of the linear function. Systems of equations, exponents, The Pythagorean Theorem and geometric transformations will also be explored. This course will address the content expectations set forth by the State of Michigan for Math 8 courses using the Common Core State Standards for Math 8


  • Graphing Calculator  TI-84 plus recommended
    Either purchase your own or there are a limited number of calculators available for check out in the media center. You will first need to have a signed calculator policy. Bring the signed policy with you to the media center when checking out a calculator. 
  • Lots of pencils
  • Two spiral or composition books -  At least 100 pages each. You hit the jackpot if you can find graph paper version (quadrille). Otherwise, college rule will also work. 
  • Graph paper (if you did not get the graph paper notebook)
  • Extra AAA batteries for your calculator (don't want it to go dead during an assessment)
