The Career/Tech Police Science program prepares students for a variety of exciting careers in public safety. Throughout the three year program, students are taught common police investigative techniques, private security concepts, emergency dispatch procedures, advanced emergency medical skills, crime scene investigations, and the criminal justice system. Law enforcement and private security concepts are covered the first year. The second year is primarily focused on students obtaining their emergency dispatch certification from APCO (Association of Public-Safety Communication Officials). The third year students train and prepare for their EMR (emergency medical responder) certification through the Pennsylvania Department of Health and completing a forensics program through DUKE TIP (Talent Identification Program).  Physical fitness and self-discipline are highly stressed.  Students who graduate the program successfully gain a wealth of knowledge and certifications applicable to a variety of public safety careers.
