All meetings will be held at the Education Service Center, 101 W. 11th Street, Claremore, OK.  
All parents or guardians of JOM students attending Claremore Public Schools are welcome to attend.

2016-2017 Cherokee Nation Tribal Youth Council 

The Cherokee Nation is seeking applications for their 2016-2017 Cherokee Nation Tribal Youth Council.  The attached file includes the application, duties of the position, and eligibility requirements.  All applications with required documents must be postmarked by Wednesday, September 7, 2016.

2016-2017 Cherokee Cultural Competitions

Please see the attached document showing the dates for the Cherokee Language Bowl 2016, the Cherokee Challenge Bowl 2017, the Cherokee Art/Fine Arts Competition 2016, and the Cherokee Creative Writing Competition 2017.  The 2016 Amendment to the CLB Manual for the Cherokee Language Bowl and the Cherokee Challenge Bowl is attached below.  

The dates of the Cherokee Challenge Bowl located at Sycamore Springs Ranch have been changed (as of February 6, 2017) to the following:  Division 4 - March 6th, Division 2 - March 7th, Division 3 - March 8th, and Division 1 - March 9th.  Please do not use the dates listed in the attachment below.

2017 Summer Program at Crazy Horse

Please encourage your motivated college bound high school Native seniors to contact Aaron Poor Bear at or 605-677-7935 for additional information and/or a student application for the
2017 Summer Program at Crazy Horse (8-weeks).  This is a great opportunity for your seniors to continue 
and/or to jump start their college experience.  Participants will:
  • Earn 12-14 USD credits that should transfer to their college of choice in the fall: College Algebra, English Composition, Psychology, Speech, etc.
  • Work a credit-bearing paid internship - @24 per week at $9.00 per hour
  • Meet weekly with an advisor to get "ducks in a row" for the fall
  • Receive a $500 National Jump Start Stipend.
  • Earn a $400 Incentive Grant
  • Learn and practice college success strategies
  • Earn an annual USD Housing Scholarship (USD bound only)
  • Engage in cultural-educational activities unique to the Black Hills and to Crazy Horse
  • Receive post-summer tracking and follow-up.
  • Become eligible for a 2nd Year Upper Level Program
