The Mission of Christ the King School is to provide an excellent education in a Catholic community of love and care; to foster respect for self and others; and to nourish a life long devotion to God and the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Welcome to Second Grade!
About me, Mrs.Ducasse

This is my seventh year at Christ the King and I am looking forward to another exciting year!  I moved to Vermont in 2010 with my husband Tyler and my now ten year old twins, Nathan and Isabelle. We love camping, traveling, hiking, skiing and enjoying doing a variety of activities depending on the season.

I have been teaching for  over thirteen years. I started my teaching career in Canada in 2000 teaching Fifth Grade and then Third Grade. I moved to Munich, Germany in 2002 and taught Fourth Grade at the Bavarian International School. My students came from all over the world. (Japan, US, Germany, South Africa, Brazil, England, Czech Republic, Greece, Spain etc.) It was truly a multi-cultural experience.  After that, I moved to Arizona and worked as a Hospital School Teacher for pediatric patients aged Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade. At Christ the King, I've taught Fourth Grade for six years and have now had the amazing opportunity to teach Second Grade. I have a passion for education and believe in providing a positive learning environment for all students.  Second Grade is an exciting year learning about our Catholic Faith and Catholic Identity through the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Eucharist.

My Teaching Philosophy

My belief is that a teacher must, first and foremost, give students a love of learning and give them opportunities to build critical and creative thinking skills in a forever changing world. I believe in building a warm, caring and positive classroom climate for my students. I think it's essential to look at the whole child and help them grow academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

Communication and Working as a Team

Communication between parents and teachers plays a crucial role in a child's education.  Please feel free to contact me via email or at school if you have any questions or if you would like to set up a time to meet.  I check email when time permits before and after school. My web page is an invaluable tool to let you know what is going on in Second grade at CKS.
