What a privilege it is to work in this amazing community. I am so happy to share my love of art with you all. I began teaching art at Christ the King School in 2004. I graduated from UVM in 2001 with a BA in Anthropology and again in 2003 with a Certificate in Art Education.
I married my husband Sean in 2008. Mr. Palmer teaches 4th grade. Our son Liam is a student in the Fledgling class at CKS. Our baby Eli will turn one this December. We live in the woods on a mountain in Williston near my parents and their beautiful vegetable garden. I lead a 4-H group in Williston with my mother. I enjoy gardening, needle felting, painting, and photography.
Art class at CKS integrates the elements and principles of art and design with a variety of themes form other academic areas. We will be studying prehistoric, historical and contemporary artists and their work from a range of cultures. And of course each grade will be applying a variety of media and techniques to create their own amazing artwork. The Vermont Vital Result Standards and the elements and principals of design are at the core of my curricula. I am devoted to the success of every student and will do everything in my power to ensure that each student receives the time, materials, and support he or she needs. All students can be successful given the necessary support. My goal is to inspire an appreciation for and a celebration of the world, the life, and the blessings God has bestowed upon us, through Art.
