Dear Parents and Students,
It is with thankful prayers that I announce to you that Mrs. Susan Hackett has been offered the position of Principal of Christ the King School, in Rutland, and has accepted with joy to be the Spiritual, Academic and School Community Leader of CKS. As a former student of CKS, before her family moved, and parishioner of Christ the King Parish, she is looking forward to joining all of you in furthering the excellence of Catholic Education, using her experiences, gifts, and faith-centered life to enhance the foundation of CKS.
Mrs. Hackett brings an extensive academic background and a rich variety of teaching and administrative experiences that she is eager to bring to CKS and infuse into our school wherever needed and most appropriate, as well as learn from each of you. A partnership she embraces! Mrs. Hackett believes this position/ministry was made for her and the Interview Committee Members, Father Baker and I all agree.
Mrs. Hackett obtained an Advanced Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Hartford, after obtaining a MS in Reading/Language Arts Consultant and a BS in Elementary Education from Central Connecticut State University and has taken Post Graduate Coursework at Castleton State College. Her years of experience in Elementary Education have been as a classroom teacher, Administrator, and Reading/Language Arts Specialist, both in Connecticut and Southern Vermont public schools.
I would like to Welcome Mrs. Hackett, to CKS to lead, learn and grow with all of us, in fostering the Mission of Christ the King School.
I know she is enthusiastic to meet all of you, get to know the faculty, staff, students and parents and begin the 2015 - 2016 school year. Mrs. Hackett's official duties will start on August 1st, by joining the Catholic School Principals, in the Diocese of Burlington for a 3-day meeting and retreat experience. She will be present in school, to begin her ministry at CKS on Wednesday, August 5th.
With my prayers, gratitude and support,
