Carers can enjoy a respite during the day from as little as £6 an hour thanks to Heathlands day centre.

Bracknell Forest Council's day centre now offers a drop-in service to support carers who look after people aged 60 and over with memory problems. The drop-in session runs seven days a week from 8am until 7pm.
Naoma Dobson, head of long-term community support said: "This scheme is a fantastic opportunity for carers as it allows them to take a much needed break during the day to go out and shop, attend appointments or to socialise."
"Carers can drop off the person with memory problems for two to four hours, and can rest assured that they are safe, well looked after and can join in activities supported by staff who have specialist training and are fully CRB checked."
Anyone living in Bracknell Forest and the surrounding area who is caring for an older person with memory problems is eligible for the scheme. They do not need to be known to adult social care and no financial assesessment is needed. The cost is just £6 an hour, payable on the day. Lunch is available at an extra cost, and one-to-one support is also available for an additional price.
If you are interested, or know of someone who may be, the person with meory problems will need to visit Heathlands Day Centre for a short introduction and assessment. Care staff will then create an individual care plan. Once someone is registered, carers can book the service on 01344-360775 or 01344-425650.
Heathlands day centre is located at Crossfell, Wildridings, RG12 7RX.

Please remember that Care In Your Home Ltd are also able to offer respite care, from 1 hour upwards as required by a carer, and are willing to include this as part of a larger package or just on its own.
