Welcome to Health Class!

Dear PVC Students and Families,
I cannot believe it is the beginning of November already!  I hope you are all looking forward to celebrating fall holidays as they are quickly approaching.  I also hope you are finding a way to stick to a consistent sleep schedule as this time of year presents many challenges to our sleep quality. In all health classes we are making connections to the power of sleep.  Please see below for a quick summary:

5th grade- wrapping up Walk Across America step tracking and self-assessment of how extra exercise increases sleep quality- NEW trimester begins on Mon 11/30/20- see below for more information!

7th grade- managing stress- SLEEP is one of the best ways to keep stress levels at a steady level without feeling distress or overload.

8th grade- fighting infectious disease with a healthy immune system- sleep is a key factor in immune health.

Welcome back to the 2020-2021 school year!  I hope you enjoyed the summer and had time to spend with family and friends.  I enjoyed the time with my three children, spouse, our two dogs and traveled to a few places.  We went upstate to where my husband and I grew up (near Cooperstown) a few times, traveled to Richmond and Cape Cod.  I also spent a lot of time hiking locally, bike riding, running and reading.
I can't wait to hear about your summer and the adventures you had!

I am so looking forward to a new year with all of you!  In order to best prepare for what we will learn about, discuss and wonder in health class this year, please access the google classroom for your grade level.  The codes are listed below.  If you have any questions, or concerns, please email me.  Thank you and take good care of yourself and the ones you love!
