PE Teachers have a Heart!

Heart Rate Monitors, that is! The PE staff has been integrating Heart Rate Monitors into the Freshman, Sophomore and Fit for Life classes this year to better gauge the students fitness level and effort level that our students exert. It is our goal to expand this to all classes as we are able to acquire more heart rate monitors. The data from these heart rate monitors is able to be downloaded and analyzed letting us know at what level our students are working. If the level is in the target zone of 140-180 beats per minute, our students are getting the most out of their workout. This also lets us objectively evaluate our students work efforts and grade appropriately. It is important to the PE staff that students learn how to exercise effectively and safely to get the most out of their efforts.
