West Park Teachers Flash Mob It for PBS!!

posted May 7, 2013, 5:46 AM by Helen Baynum   [ updated May 7, 2013, 10:40 AM ]

For the past few weeks, teachers at West Park have been learning flash mob moves to reward students for positive behavior.  At the annual Students VS Teachers kickball game, WPP teachers came together to surprise students on the kickball field!   In addition to our fun day, the West Park Place Elementary PTA organized a fundraiser in support of Alex's Lemonade Stand so our students were able to enjoy lemon water ice after the game.  Many students donated at least one dollar to support this great cause.  A great game was played by our fifth grade students and a fun afternoon was had by all. View the FLASHMOB here:
So far, we have raised $520 for Alex's Lemonade Stand!  Donations can still be made online at

Holiday Shop will be held on December 4th, 5th from 8:30 – 11:00 and from 1:30 – 2:30 and on December 6th from 8:30 – 10:30.    Volunteers will be needed each day to set-up the shop, help the children shop, gift wrapping, and running the cash register.  Due to the District’s volunteer policy, only those who have completed and received approval of the volunteer application can assist on these days and times.  If you have not gone through the process but still would like to help, we do need volunteers to help with inventory and set-up on December 3rd in the afternoon (time to be determined) and with inventory and pack-up on December 6th after 10:30. Any day and time that you can help would be most appreciated.  It is a very fun and rewarding event for the children.  If interested, please contact Bianca Graves at
