My name is Wendy DeRung. I have been teaching for over 20 years. I have a super husband and two great girls. I enjoy photography, scrapbooking and gardening. Most of all I enjoy spending time with my family. I enjoy sharing my love of learning.
I am teaching in a few different areas here at CA. I am teaching the College Algebra/College Trig class through the College Now program at Southwest Minnesota State University. I am also teaching the business and technology classes. I am involved in extra curricular activities as well, as BPA advisor and a FIRST robotics team mentor. I am acting as technology coordinator as well.
I graduated from the University of Minnesota-Morris with Bachelors of Arts degrees in mathematics and computer science. I also obtained secondary teaching and coaching licenses while attending. I have a Masters of Science degree from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan in the area of computer science.
I have taught at both the high school and college level. I have taught at UMM, Michigan Tech, and Fergus Falls Community College. I have taught in the areas of math and computer. I have also taught at different secondary schools as well. I started out my teaching career teaching middle school math in Hermantown, MN. I have also taught at the Morris Alternative School and in Hancock. These jobs have given me an appreciation for the diversity of students found in schools today. I look forward to sharing the learning experience with your family.
