U.S. History-7

My name is Mrs. Jensen.  This will be my 12th  year teaching middle school.  I have taught  history at Heritage  for 6 years, in 2017 I was a finalist for Yavapai County Teacher of the Year in the grades 6-8 category.  I am very excited about the new school year. Below is some information about me.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with an emphasis in U.S. and World History at the University Nevada Las Vegas (Honors). And I also earned a Master's of Science in Teacher Leadership from Walden University (Honors).  I love teaching and taught 8th Grade World Geography for almost 7 years in Las Vegas, Nevada.  It was quite an experience teaching in the city.

Before moving to Nellis Air Force Base in Vegas, I grew up in southeastern Arizona.  I graduated from Duncan High School in 2001 as an honor graduate.  I participated in many clubs and sports.  I played volleyball, tennis and managed the wrestling team.  I was a proud member of our local  FFA and 4-H chapter.  I showed horses and chickens and helped my little brother raise a few steers and pigs for the county fair. In 1999-2000 I was chosen to represent Greenlee County as the Rampage Rodeo Queen. I also participated in rodeo and gymkhana events. In 2010, I was a National Qualifier for Nevada in Ranch Team Sorting.   This is what I love about Chino Valley it reminds me of where I grew up but a little bit bigger in size.     While living at the military base I had the opportunity to provide riding lessons for kids and hosted play days four times a year.  In 2004, I won the Professional Armed Forces Rodeo Association World Champion Barrel Racer title.  That was really awesome.

I look forward to getting to know you and wish for a happy and wonderful school year.
Best Wishes,
Ms.  Jensen
