Time to Teach is an evidence based classroom management model which uses practical,
proven, and powerful strategies. It will be used school-wide. It offers strategies for dealing with student discipline at the classroom and school-wide level. The strategies are based on research and teacher experience.
These are the five basic beliefs in the system:
1.CARING IS KEY.
2.CONFLICT IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF GROWING UP.
3.GOOD BEHAVIOR MUST BE SYSTEMATICALLY TAUGHT.
4.BEHAVIOR CAN BE CHANGED.
5.GOOD DISCIPLINE IS ONLY A MATTER OF GOOD TIMING.
Students will be given opportunities to practice expected behaviors and time to “refocus” when those
expectations are not met. Beyond “refocusing,” behaviors that don’t progress in meeting expectations
will be dealt with on an individual basis including parental notification.
This is a very positive system where students will learn that “HARD WORK FEELS GREAT!”
