Outline of Activities for 2014 - 2015

First Six Weeks

FOCUS: Basic Fitness | TEST: Height/Weight

Week 1:

Intro to PE, rules, basics of the gym GAMES: Focus on getting to know others

Week 2:

PE Basics: Learn the rules, fitness, etc.

Week 3:

GAMES: Focus on teamwork, following directions. TEST HEIGHT & WEIGHT

Week 4:

Fitness Stations.  TEST HEIGHT & WEIGHT

Week 5:

GAMES: Focus on Fitness and Teamwork.  TEST HEIGHT & WEIGHT

Week 6:

GAMES: Continue working on Fitness and Following Directions.  TEST HEIGHT & WEIGHT

Second Six Weeks

FOCUS: Abdominal/Core Exercises | TEST: Curl-Ups

Week 7:

FITNESS and DANCE: Movement Skills and basic fitness.

Week 8:

VOLLEYBALL: Teach serving skills

Week 9:

VOLLEYBALL: Lead up volleyball games.

Week 10:

VOLLEYBALL: Lead up volleyball games.

Week 11:

GAMES:  Focus on multi-directional movement, spatial awareness TEST CURL UPS

Week 12:

GAMES:  Focus on chasing, fleeing, dodging , TEST CURL UPS

Third Six Weeks

FOCUS: Upper Body Strength | Test: Push-Ups

Week 13:

DODGEBALL,  TEST PUSH-UPS

Week 14:

DODGEBALL, TEST PUSH-UPS

Week 15:

DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT,  TEST PUSH-UPS

Week 16: 

DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT, Finals

Week 17:

GAMES: Focus on kicking, eye/foot coordination

Week 18:

BASKETBALL SKILLS, Pacer for run/walk

Fourth Six Weeks

FOCUS: Endurance | TEST: 15m PACER

Week 19:

BASKETBALL SKILLS, Pacer for run/walk

Week 20:

BASKETBALL SKILLS, Pacer for run/walk

Week 21:

FITNESSGRAM TESTING: 15m PACER in the gym

Week 22:

GAMES: Focus on  jumping, leg strength, aerobic capacity, minute challenges

Week 23:

SKATING/FRISBEE

Week 24:

SKATING/FRISBEE

Fifth Six Weeks

FOCUS: Lower Body Strength | TEST: minute challenges

Week 25:

SOCCER Games, minute challenges

Week 26:

Hoops 4 Heart, BASKETBALL Stations with March Madness, minute challenges

Week 27:

GAMES: Focus on kicking, eye/foot coordination, minute challenges

Week 28:

SOCCER SKILLS, minute challenges

Week 29:

SOCCER SKILLS, lead-up games, minute challenges

Week 30:

SOCCER, minute challenges

Week 31:

SOOCER games, minute challenges

Sixth Six Weeks

FOCUS: Flexibility | TEST: Shoulder Stretch/Trunk Lift

 

TEST SHOULDER STRETCH & TRUNK LIFT

Week 32:

DANCE AND RHYTHM

Week 33:

DANCE AND RHYTHM

Week 34:

FITNESSGRAM TESTING: Finish anything or anyone not tested, Flexibility Stations

Week 35:

TUG OF WAR Tournament, FIELD DAY: May 23

Week 36:

KICKBALL/BASEBALL

Week 37:
