2017-2018 Curriculum & Assessment FOCUS AREAS
  • Implementation of our new benchmarking assessment platform, NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association).  We are also piloting this platform at CHS in English II and Algebra I
  • Implementation and refinement of our new PK-5 Standards Based Grade Cards
  • Science curriculum development continues as we prepare for the FIELD TEST in 5th and 8th grades along with Biology, Spring, 2018; Debbie Goodwin is working with our 2nd and 3rd grade teachers to further develop science instruction at Field
  • Social studies teachers continue the work begun Summer, 2016.  K-5 teachers are building social studies expectations into the ELA curriculum while 6-12 teachers have completed a curriculum map and two units of instruction.  The goal this year is to complete the first semester of curriculum with the new MLS in preparation for the Field Test in Spring, 2019.
  • Elective teachers will develop curriculum for a second course this year
  • We continue to work on bolstering ACT and advanced level course offerings at the high school level

The focus this year is our science curriculum, shifting to the newly adopted Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).  Our PK-12 Science Curriculum team is:
