Build Here

Hope Lives Update - September 2012

We now have a pretty good idea of what the new building will look like!  While details are all still up in the air, we have the basic footprint of our new Worship Center and our new kitchen and Kidzone classrooms!  Check out our Drawings page for the latest renderings!

Work continues as we have applied for our Site Plan approval with the county and we have engineers working on our property to assess what kind of footings we need to support the new structure.  Work is also being done to determine our water and sewer needs for the new building.  If all goes well, we should be applying for building permits soon and breaking ground before the winter.  Please continue to pray that things go smoothly and that we develop and maintain a good working relationship with the county.

Hope Lives Update - July 2012

This week the architects came into town to meet with the staff and overseers of the church and discuss the final schematic drawings of the expansion.  These are still very basic drawings, but it gives us an idea of what we will actually be building.

Check out the drawings page for the most recent version of the building plans!

Hope Lives Update - June 2012

As you know we have been in the planning stages of our Hope Lives building projects here at Cheyenne Hills Church and in Aloi, Uganda.  Many exciting things have been happening on both fronts and we would like to update you.

In Cheyenne we are in meetings working on the final drawings for the design of our new worship center and remodeled kids area.  We hope to begin seeing some more of the finished design work done this summer and even think that we might see a groundbreaking in August!

We believe we have the primary design layouts of the new Worship Center worked out and are ready to work out the details.  We have also made some great strides on the plans for transforming our current Worship Center into a first class Children's Ministry space.

Next week the architects will be visiting to hammer out some more details before they enter into the Design Development phase of the project.

Please continue to pray with us as we seek to be good stewards of the resources God has given us as well as creating a space that will serve our current ministry needs and allow us to grow and reach more people with the Gospel!

Hope Lives Pledge Sunday:

There are a few more pledges we expect to receive, but it looks like we will land just under 1.7 million dollars in pledges! That, in addition to the 300 thousand that has already been raised in cash last December will bring our campaign total to right around $2,000,000!

Celebration Sunday was one of the most amazing days. I will never forget the buzz in the lobby with people ready to hand in their pledges and the excitement in the church. There was a spirit of giving that I'm sure blessed the heart of our heavenly Father. I know it blessed the heart of the staff.

The above number from Hope Lives plus the 200 thousand from Chapter 2 brings us to an amazing place of being able to build here and build there. Now that we know what the actual numbers are we can move forward with actual plans and drawings that will help us best build here and build there.

And our prayer from Phillipians 2:19 is: "And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus."

Campaign Update:

…and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved them came and brought an offering to the Lord for the work on the tent of meeting… Exodus 35:21

The Hope Lives Campaign is well underway! We are deeply grateful for the work of those who have gone before us, providing us with our current structure as well as a vision for “birthing before we build.” The Hope Lives Campaign will allow us to build an improved structure that will facilitate increased local ministry, as well as providing for the basic needs and education of 435 orphans in Aloi, Uganda.
We have presented the vision for our Cheyenne Hills building expansion and the Aloi orphanage at six meetings over the last couple months. We’ve received great suggestions and encouragement and we sense excitement and optimism about these building projects. We look forward to watching how God moves in the hearts of all of us at Cheyenne Hills to participate in Hope Lives.
Work has started on the orphanage in Aloi. When we last spoke with Francis they had begun fencing in the property for the orphanage and were preparing to dig the well. They need to dig a deep well to provide all of the water necessary to build bricks on site. We are hoping for an update and some pictures soon.
Our Hope Lives pledge weekend will take place March 24th and 25th. We desire for everyone who attends Cheyenne Hills to inquire of the Lord as to how they can participate and contribute to this vision of “building here” in Cheyenne and “building there” in Aloi Uganda.
We will collect the pledge cards during weekend services on March 24th and 25th. If you cannot attend a service that weekend, please drop your pledge card off in the church office or mail it in.
Please join us in praying for our pledge weekend. Pray for a clear sense of God’s direction as we move forward from the planning stage to breaking ground. Pray for God’s presence to increase our dependence on Him so that He is glorified. Pray God will use us in a mighty way for the continued work of ministering to His people locally and across the world.

Thanks for your partnership in Hope Lives.
