1/23 The boys basketball game has been postponed. Make-up TBD. Practice until 4pm

All athletes that would like to try out for any Dodd athletic team, must have a current physical on file in the nurse's office. There are also 2 forms on the Dodd website that need to be filled out electronically prior to try outs. They are a Concussion form and Sudden Cardiac Arrest form. An email has been sent to all students and their families.

List of Sports by Season:
  • Fall: Cross-Country, Boys' Soccer, Girls' Soccer, Girls' Field Hockey & Girls' Volleyball
  • Winter: Boys' Basketball, Girls' Basketball & Cheerleading
  • Spring: Baseball, Softball, Boys' Track & Girls' Track

Standards:
  • 7th & 8th grade students must have a physical form on file that is good for the entire academic year in order to participate in sports after school. Students NEED to get a receipt from Nurse Remillard  confirming they have an updated physical BEFORE they can tryout for an interscholastic athletic team or participate in intramurals.  Students will bring this receipt to tryouts to give to the coach.  Physical forms are available in the nurses office or online. Students must also turn in a signed consent "Concussion" form and "Sudden Cardiac Arrest" form before trying out.
  • There will be a $125 participation fee for each team you make.
  • Students must turn in a signed permission slip.
  • Students must have passing grades in each subject to participate.
  • Any student who is suspended from school during the season or who misses three practices or games shall be removed from the team. Please note: a hearing, which may include the student, coach, athletic director, parent, and an administrator, may be requested.

General Policies:

  • Students are expected to attend all practices and competitions. At the beginning of the season, the coach will inform team members of the consequences of absences other than for illness or family emergency.
  • Students playing on any middle level school team should not play with an outside team in the same sport after participating in the first interscholastic game in that season. (C.I.A.C. guideline not mandate)
  • Students are expected to attend all classes on the day of a competition. Students must be in school by 10 a.m. in order to participate in games held on that day.
  • Students are expected to travel to and from events on the team bus, accompanied by the coach. Any student wishing to ride home with parents, or friends, must bring a written request from his or her parent. The note must be presented to the principal at the beginning of the school day. There is also a "transportation after game" form that coaches hand out at the start of the season that may be filled out and returned that will allow athletes to go home with a designated party.
  • Students are to conduct themselves appropriately at all times, both on and off the field. Standards of good sportsmanship should be demonstrated at all times.
  • Students who initiate fights or verbally abuse officials will be removed from the game and will be suspended from a minimum of one game.
  • Students are not allowed to have cleats, radios or juice on the bus, in the gym or in the locker room.
  • Students are not allowed to go to their school lockers after games or practice; therefore, all books, coats, and personal items should be collected from lockers when school is dismissed.

Equipment:

  • Equipment and uniforms are on loan and are only to be worn when authorized by the coach. (Cross Country athletes may purchase a uniform to keep from their coach) Uniforms or parts of uniforms may not be worn for P.E. classes.
  • If equipment is lost or stolen, the replacement cost will be charged to the student and collected by the coach.
  • Please note that no sporting equipment should be carried in the hallway during the school day. Equipment should be stored in a locker, classroom, or in the office.

Please Note:

  • Additional rules and regulations will be determined by each coach. Any student or parental concerns should be voiced to the coach first, to the athletic director if appropriate, and to the principal only when necessary.
