Crash 999 is a FIRST robotics team that competes in both FIRST tech challenge (FTC, team number 233) and the FIRST robotics competition (FRC). These challenges encourage excellence in engineering, science, math, and technology. In addition, FIRST emphasizes gracious professionalism, which is further explained here. These programs, along with two other programs for younger children, promote FIRST's vision:
"To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology leaders."
