High school athletics can be a huge advantage both in gaining admissions to colleges that might otherwise be out of reach, and in obtaining funding for college. However, there are minimum requirements for consideration for an athletic scholarship, and they can change over time. It is becoming harder to qualify, not easier. All prospective student-athletes intending to enroll in a NCAA Division I or II institution for the first time, on or after August 1, 2009, MUST complete the NCAA Clearinghouse Initial Eligibility form. Please refer to the website on-line for any questions concerning the NCAA Eligibility Requirements by going to: http://www.ncaastudent.org/
There is a list of NCAA approved Core Courses at Cheshire High School available at the NCAA Eligibility Center. The website is: http://eligibilitycenter.org/ECWR2/NCAA_EMS/NCAA.html
