Student Support Team

The purpose and role of the Student Support Team (SST) within the Chapel Hill Carrboro City School System is to develop and monitor research-based intervention plans for a small percentage of students who are not responding to strategic, targeted interventions implemented by the student’s Professional Learning Community (PLC).
Specifically, SST develops and monitors intensive interventions within Tier 3 of the Responsiveness to Instruction (RtI) model. Responsiveness to Instruction is the process of providing high quality instruction and interventions matched to students' needs, monitoring of student progress frequency to make changes in instruction or goals, and applying student response data to important educational decisions.
