Ms. Robertson

Welcome to 3rd grade! I am thrilled to be your child’s 3rd grade teacher for the 2023-2024 school year at Rashkis Elementary. I believe that there are certain teachers who have a special way of connecting with children and inspire them to do the very best that they can. I was fortunate enough to have met several of these special educators, and one in particular inspired my very young self to become a teacher. The way my third grade teacher captivated my attention, cared for me, and engaged the class with authentic learning activities, made my eight-year-old self yearn for the day that I could do the same for my own students. I am so excited to teach in the very grade that had such an impact on my life! 

I grew up on Lake Norman and love spending time with my family out on the water. I adopted a tailless cat, Tangelo, in January 2021. He has officially made me a cat person! My fiancé and I are excited to be in the thick of planning our wedding-taking place in May, 2024! Some of my interests outside of school include reading, playing tennis, and going to concerts. I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I am excited to begin my tenth year at Rashkis!

This year, I hope to make learning as hands on as possible.  I believe that all of my students have the right to understand any material I teach, and it is my responsibility to discover the way that your child learns best. By following the growth mindset, I hope to help your child embrace challenges, persist even in the face of setbacks, see effort as the path to mastery, and learn from constructive feedback. I hope that we can all work together to make this happen!
