DR Water Project

What is the DR Water Project?
In tandem with the mural project that took place the week before Spring Break in the Upper D and E stairwells (Check them out in person!), the Global Leadership Institute (who has made this project possible), together with the support of NC high school including CHS students from the student leadership program, Transcending Borders, are assisting in obtaining the funds for the Cumbre Water Project. Families in this region do not have running water and have to walk or take mules to a small river/stream several times a day to bring back 50-70 gallons of water. Please take the time to think about how easy it is for us to have any amount of water that we want with relative ease. Your financial contribution will bring with it the reward of knowing that you have made a difference in the lives of those who live in La Cumbre, making it a better place with a better future. Your contribution not only supports a community in need, but also the tides that tie all of us together as a human network. You can also donate to: http://dominicanrepublicwaterproject.mydagsite.com/home
Checks can be made out to the Global Leadership Institute with DR Water Project in the memo line.
We would be remiss if we did not touch on why we are personally so invested in this project. We both have made personal connections to people from the Dominican Republic whose lives will be changed. They have expressed gratitude for the assistance in making a reality what many people take for granted. Water is life.
