Welcome to MMS Theatre Arts!

"Is there no play,
To ease the anguish of a torturing hour?"
~ William Shakespeare - A Midsummer Night's Dream

Theatre and the arts have the unique ability to tap in to the core of an individual, to open one’s eyes to the possibilities that lay ahead and to help one to think creatively about achieving one’s goals. Theatre creates “images of potential community, sparking the kind of imaginative work that must precede substantial changes in customary habits” (McConachie, 2001).

Action takes place on our stage. Our stage is a manifestation of the mind, a place of exploration and play, and a means to the creation of habits of behavior. It can enable the young in our midst (who are our trust) to reach to new heights, to challenge themselves, to identify the various forces in society that act upon them, to understand the impact of these forces on their lives and to take action in return.

McDougle Middle School Theatre Arts is committed to using the arts in this way; as a tool for education. We welcome the community to rally around our young performers and to support them along their journey of discovery and growth.

Thank you for your support,
