General Information

The McDougle Middle School Library Media Center is a shared facility with McDougle Elementary School and Carrboro Branch Library. Because of this unique feature, we have a large, rich collection of materials and are busy all day.

For McDougle students, the library opens at 8 AM. Students are welcome to come check out books or do homework before the first bell. Students can come to the library any time during the day with a signed pass from their teacher. There are a limited number of lunch times passes which are signed by the library staff.

Circulation and Resources

Students may check out up to 5 items at a time, including 1 magazine (overnight check out), 1 audio book, 2 graphic novels or 2 books in a series. Check out is for 2 weeks, but students may renew unless there is a hold. Although there are no overdue fees, students will not be able to check out if they have 2 or more overdue items. They must also pay for lost or damaged books. Students can request a hold for a book with the library staff.

The Library has 22 computers for class and student use. In addition, we have 8 laptops and 6 Nooks for use within the Library.

Carrboro Branch Library
