Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) 

This program is designed to develop the behaviors necessary for all Carrboro High School students to achieve success during the tenure at the school. 

In accordance with the CHCCS Strategic Growth Plan 2008-2013, 
Carrboro High School is now implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS).  
PBIS is a broad range of systemic and individualized strategies for achieving 
important social and learning outcomes while preventing problem behavior. 


The guiding principles are: 

1. All students are valuable and deserve respect. 

2. School climate is a shared responsibility among administrators, teachers, staff, parents and students. 

3. All students can be taught appropriate behavior. 

4. Regular positive reinforcement of appropriate behaviors will help them to occur more frequently. 

 The Carrboro High School PBIS program can be summarized as follows: C (Care About Your Future), H (Honor Yourself and Others) and S (Support Safe and Responsible Behavior).
