Welcome Back!!

Hard to believe that the summer has already come to an end...but here I am ready start my thirteenth year of teaching special education!

I look forward to seeing all of my students...old and new...as we embark on another fantastic year together!

A little bit about me:

I grew up in Vestal, N.Y. and dreamed of being a teacher since I was just a little girl. After graduating from High School in 2001, I moved to Albany, N.Y. to attend The College of Saint Rose with a dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education. I graduated in May of 2005 and just one week later was offered a job at Charlotte Valley to teach Special Education. In November of 2008, I graduated from Excelsior College with a Master's Degree in Literacy Education. One month later, I married my husband in the middle of a snowstorm! We now have two beautiful daughters, Lilah Jean and Ella Marie and a handsome little man, Colter Allen!

Thirteen years later, I am still here teaching Special Education. I have also taken on a number of other roles, all of which I take great pride in as working in small school, you must wear many hats. Along with teaching special education in our elementary classes, I am the CSE Chairperson, AIS Coordinator, and Testing Coordinator for the school district. I greatly enjoy the multiple roles that I balance each day to ensure all student's individual needs are met!

One of my greatest joys this year is to walk down the halls and run into two very familiar, smiling faces- that of my own little girls, Lilah who is in first grade and Ella in Pre-K, both here at Charlotte Valley. Charlotte Valley is a fantastic little school with a big heart and I cannot wait to continue to watch each of my children grow and learn here as I teach each of yours!
