Chaitanya Organization Providing an additional source of income for our women members through facilitating and guiding micro-enterprise/market linkage initiatives that are identified and selected after assessing the value chains. 

Objectives and Activities

  • Enhance knowledge of livelihood practices and the skills required to manage available resources. Conduct trainings tying up with technical partners; related to:
    • Vermi- compost/ Bio dynamic
    • Organic farming
    • Animal husbandry
    • Financial aid for credit needs
    • Raised-bed agriculture
    • Kitchen garden
    • Horticulture
    • Fodder enrichment-Azolla
    • Systematic Rice Intensification (SRI)
  • Promote farmer groups around specific products and services identified via value chain analysis and work towards facilitating bigger share for them. This is achieved through both backward linkages like collective procurement and forward market led interventions.
  • Create a cadre of community resource persons called Upjeevika Jankars to perform field extension services and marketing.
  • Promote entrepreneurship through skill trainings like tailoring, bag making and handicraft


  • 450 families of our women members are involved in micro-enterprise at various steps in value chain thereby getting an additional source of income.
  • Capacity of 50 women members involved in marketing of the products of these enterprises is built as marketing jankars (Local salespersons) for its long term sustainability.
  • Successful value chain interventions in 3 products identified at three viz. Rice, Chili and fish which will ensure the maximum benefit for the participating women. Chaitanya also promote SHG women’s to open Dairy firms.
  • Establishing linkages for supplying at least 1000 kg of  Papad, chili and hand pounded rice.
  • Achieving annual sales turnover of approx 10 Lacks by the first year of operations.
  • Developed and tested efficient channels of distribution for local as well as distant market.
  • 60 nurseries of at least 1000 plants prepared in villages by SHGs or individual household of each federation in 3 years.

Hand Pounded rice,local pulses, chilies, chili powder packaged and marketed under brand Ankur.

Papad and food products from Kankan were packaged and marketed under brand Sugran.

600 SHG members have adopted SRI production  technique in food crops to gradually increase productivity by 30-50 %.
