Tarea/Homework Policy
Friday folders - We will send these home each Friday with completed work. Students receive a sticker for returning on Monday.

MONDAY Homework folders go home and return daily (mine are purple and Mrs. Clark's are orange). We will have some spelling each week, reading 10-15 mins. daily in either language, and 1 page, 2-sided of math to be completed in one week. Homework packets go home Mondays and should return the following Monday. Note: we chose to do a little homework each week as a way to communicate at home about what we are working on and to give students a little quiet practice time outside the classroom. We are flexible! Let us know if you need adjustments for your schedule.
There are always links on my weblinks page for more explorations.
"What does optional mean?" It means choose an option from the weekly list, one or more activities that suit your homelife and student needs. Students are not graded on homework. Extra practice translates to better understanding of the vocabulary and concepts studied in class)- Choose one Book Flix, Tumblebooks, Duolingo, or another Spanish book (see my web links). Write down in your planner which book or story you read. Why not send me a Telagami and tell me about the book?

Dulce Sharing

This year my students will follow the diary of Papa Smurf (Papa Pitufo) #dondeestapapapitufo and our pet Guinea Pig Dulce on many adventures. They will interact with the videos in writing and orally. Dulce y Daisy

I encouraged the students to ask permission to download Tellagami for free. You can make your own Gami using spoken words. Students can dictate their responses to me and email them

Follow me on Twitter: @SraAlexander! Follow Papa Pitufo on #dondeestapapapitufo

SPEAKING two languages rather than just one has obvious practical benefits in an increasingly globalized world. But in recent years, scientists have begun to show that the advantages of bilingualism are even more fundamental than being able to converse with a wider range of people. Being bilingual, it turns out, makes you smarter. It can have a profound effect on your brain, improving cognitive skills not related to language and even shielding against dementia in old age. Book Box articles on bilingualism
