Language Arts Homework   for Miss Clark & Mrs. Gregorious:

1.  READING LOG will be shared with                    students on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 18

Readers will read one just-right book at home to enjoy reading aloud for 15 or more min.

After reading, students will choose one reading strategy to use to write a thoughtful response:

WRITE A SUMMARY                                           MAKE A PREDICTION                                         ASK A QUESTION                                                 MAKE A CONNECTION                                       VISUALIZE

Students are expected to reread each response to make sure they have written a clear, complete sentence.

Students are encouraged to read daily: Monday thru Sunday.  We encourage your child to stretch as a reader by exploring new authors & books series this year!

Mrs. Gregorious' Homework

Due to my schedule - Homework will be sent home on Mondays and will be due back the following Monday. During the week we will check homework but I am hoping that you can help check student work in the moment so they can have immediate feedback.

This week our homework packet will be sent home on Tuesday, September 5.

Typically for math, the homework packet will have Spiral Review, Situation of the Day, and Fact Fluency Practice. Please see packet in homework binder for directions and links.

Mrs. Gregorius' Homework will also include Reading/Language Arts read and respond. Record book(s) read on log with at least one sentence about your connection or reaction to the text.

Typing practice is also expected. You can keep track of your child's practice in their planner or on the Dance Mat form.  Again, this is self-paced. Homework should not be more than 30 to 45 minutes.

For my class, books in the bag will be going home will students as needed. If your child is reading a chapter book that is at their just right level they will continue reading that book at home. Should you need books or support with reading please let me know.

You can access books through Tumblebooks on the CV Homepage. Click the green lines, scroll down to library, and then Tumblebooks. There are also links to our school and public library. Funbrain also has online books for reading.

Thanks for your flexibility!
