7th Grade Art
7th grade students are creating monster sculptures with emphasis on Armature design. Students will be applying color, balance, texture, pattern, shape and form. Students will be applying paper mache combined with multi media. We are so excited to see these monster's personality come alive!

7th grade students are currently studying Surrealism. Students are applying the elements and principles of design, and incorporating their ideas into a Surrealist dream scape.

7th grade students are studying the life and art periods inspired by Spanish artist, Pablo Picasso.
Students are currently drawing their model/friend in the Cubist style. Students are also studying monochromatic color theory. Artists will be applying either red or blue monochromatic colors into their painting compositions.
PROJECT DUE DATE: Tuesday, March 7, 2016
7th grade art students will identifying and analyzing clay terms and techniques. Students will create a sculpture of their favorite story book character. Example: Thomas the Train Engine, Winnie the Poop and Green Eggs and Ham.
Students need to have a visual, either a book with illustrations, or a printed image from their favorite childhood storybook.
Images are DUE: 1/19
PLEASE have your book or visual so you will able to move forward on this project. You can come in before school, lunch or after school to print a visual.
7th grade students are currently busy creating their monster armature. I am so proud of their hard work, critical thinking and innovation applied into their amazing sculptures. I am so PROUD!

Students are currently working on identity boxes inspired by Surrealist artist, Joseph Cornell. Students are applying a Surrealist flair of juxtaposition into their artwork, producing a creative and unique statement of themselves.

Students have been studying objective and non objective art, value, layering /blending color pencil, with techniques applied into two studies.
Students will be taking an assessment on 9/11. Student should be able to identify 2 artists. (objective/non-objective artists)

STUDENTS CAN… RESEARCH ON LINE AND PRINT A COPY OF THE ARTWORK, ARTIST NAME AND TITLE OF ARTWORK FOR THEIR ASSESSMENT. PRINTED AND STAPLED TO THEIR FINAL ASSESSMENT.
