Beginning Band Camp

Each year we sponsor a Beginning Band Camp in which we hire professional musicians and music teachers for each instrument.  These teachers provide expert instruction to help your child begin a successful year of band.  Beginning Band Camp will be held on August 25th from 11:30-4:00 p.m. at Catalina Foothills High School Auditorium. Parent instrument care classes will be held during the camp. It is very helpful for parents to understand basic instrument care and maintenance.

Woodwinds 12:00 - 1:00

Brass 2:00 - 3:00

Percussion - very little maintenance is needed on beginning percussion equipment, please feel free to attend any of the other scheduled classes to learn about Smartmusic

Beginning Band Camp is an optional activity, but student participation is strongly encouraged.  The more students who participate in the Band Camp, the less time we have to spend in class showing EVERY student how to assemble their instrument properly, care for it, make a sound, etc.  It will greatly benefit the whole class if students learn these things at the camp in groups with only their instrument, rather than in class with up to 10 different instruments at the same time.  We have hired some of the best professional musicians in town to work with the students at the camp.  It will be well worth the $20.00 fee to pay these professionals for their expertise!

If you would like your child to participate, please check the box on the online registration form indicating that your child will participate in the beginning band camp, and pay the $20.00 participation fee by clicking here.  Money collected goes toward payment of our professional musicians and teachers who are teaching the classes that day.
