Parking is plentiful but arriving before students is helpful. 

Procedural Information

·         Parking – Because you will not have a parking sticker, you cannot park in the faculty lots. You will need to park in the student parking areas.  Plan accordingly, close parking is limited. You will be ticketed for parking in teacher’s lot.

·         Sign in and out each day in the office at the receptionist’s desk in the main office. (Located just inside the main entrance to the school.)

·         You must wear your ID/name tag from UNI or a visitor’s badge from the receptionist’s desk.

Expectations

·         Set a consistent time and day with your supervising teacher. E-mail your supervising teacher to remind them of your first day. You are welcome to discuss what hours work for you.

·         Regular attendance is important!—Keep in mind you are not only exploring teaching as a career option, you are establishing a professional network.

·         Communication and dependability are vital. If you must be absent, call or e-mail your supervising teacher. Communicating missed days and coordination of a missed hour can be done and should be done with your teacher.  We understand when schedules conflict or an emergency happens. Please make plans with your cooperating teacher for a make up time to keep your hours and experience at the level of expectation. 

·         Punctuality is important – Please allow enough time to PARK and then report to your classroom. 

·         Dress appropriately for the school setting. Professional dress will separate you from students that might only be one year older than  you. Keep in mind you are making this connection on a professional level!

·         Demonstrate  professional conduct with students and Cedar Falls staff members. 

·         Discuss with your supervising teacher how you can become involved in the classroom.  Each classroom teacher will design your experience.  Many teachers look for initiative!  Let them know what ideas you have and how you are willing to help! 

WE are a LEARNING BASED GRADING School which will provide you experience in scoring work based on skill development.  Your teacher mentor will introduce you to how the skills are scored.

·         Cell phones are permitted during passing times (between classes) only.

·         Check school calendar for days school is not in session.  (File Attached Below) 

·         Monday and alternate schedules are attached.(File Attached Below) 

·         School cancellations are available on the KWWL website, feel free to sign up for notifications from KWWL for delays and cancellations. 

·         Check the teacher’s schedule document for room location of your supervising teacher.  (File Attached Below) 

Technology

• We are a One-to-One Learning Environment with the use of Google Chromebooks for students.  

• All Google Apps are accessible to students. 

• Students use a Learning Management System- Schoology for assignments and submissions. A link is provided above to log in as a participant for UNI.
