Mrs. Roy began working at CFCI in 2008 as the Curriculum Coordinator before moving into the Director's position in Spring 2012. Prior to that time she worked at South Brunswick Middle School where she served as a Curriculum Specialist and Algebra 1 teacher. Before that, Ms. Underwood taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math at Leland Middle School . Ms. Underwood received her Master’s Degree in School Administration and Curriculum & Insruction from East Carolina University and her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in Middle Grades Education. She is a National Board Certified teacher and her Academically and Intelligently Gifted Certification. She is thrilled to be working with teachers and students at CFCI!!!
Mrs. Roy loves spending time with her family and friends both here and in her Virginia hometown. She spends her free time reading, going to the beach, traveling with her husband Jason and playing with her dogs Duke and Buster.

Jennifer M. Paezold-Grob has been working in education since 1992 and joined the administrative team at CFCI in 2012. Jennifer holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from High Point University, a Master's degree of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Columbia University, and a Master's degree of Science in Math Leadership from Bank Street College. Jennifer has taught elementary school, been a curriculum specialist for the Brunswick County Schools and an adjunct professor at UNCW.
Jennifer spends much of her spare time enjoying her three active children and all of their latest endeavors. Jennifer enjoys scrapbooking with her friends, cooking, baking and staying active and fit.

|Nancy Johnsen joined the CFCI Administrative team in 2008 and came to CFCI with a 10 year background in the administration of programs for students with disabilities. A graduate of the University of Maryland, Mrs. Johnsen obtained her MEd and EdS degrees from the University of West Georgia in Carrolton, GA earning dual areas of licensure in Learning Disabilities and Severe Emotional Disturbance.|
A trainer and speaker focusing on best practices in the instruction of children with disabilities and the crisis management of students with severe behavioral disabilities, she has served as a Senior Trainer with Life Space Crisis Intervention and is currently a Training Associate with the Center for Teacher Effectiveness.
Mrs. Johnsen lives with her husband in Southport, has two grown sons, loves to spend time working with children and youth in her church and enjoys time traveling and being with family.

|Kathy Rettig joined the new CFCI Administrative team as Business Operations Coordinator in July 2008.|
Born in Boulder Colorado, Kathy holds degrees in Accounting and Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona. Kathy’s previous professional experiences include technical support for Intuit, Accountant and Business Office Supervisor for the University of Arizona Press, and Account Analyst with Georgetown University Medical Center.
Kathy has spent the past nine years raising her three children and, most recently, participating in the region’s schools. She is very excited to find a position in a school where she can utilize her previous experiences in a mission she strongly believes in.

Michael Zentmeyer is now in his fourth year as the Human Resources Coordinator at CFCI. In this role, he serves the staff in areas such as salary, benefits, certification and licensure. He also serves the students and parents at CFCI by assisting in the hiring of the best qualified applicants for any vacancies that occur. Michael has 35 years experience in education, including time as an elementary grade teacher, peer evaluator and elementary school principal. He retired in January 2008. This opportunity to serve as the Human Resource Coordinator for CFCI gives him the chance to again be a part of a school and to work for children.
As a 35 year resident of New Hanover County, Michael has developed interests that fit this area. He enjoys tennis, sailing and golf. He has two children, and a Carolina yellow dog named Roo He is a diehard Cincinnati Reds fan.

Pam is our front office administrator and maintains student records, handles telephone calls, attendance, visitors, student applications, lottery, enrollment and various other duties. She came to CFCI in January 2003. She moved to Wilmington from Charleston, West Virginia in 2000 with her daughter Courtney, who is a UNCW graduate. In West Virginia she worked in the public school system with autistic children for ten years.
