Bienvenue - Welcome!

The last year has brought many exciting changes to the World Language department at BRMS. World Language teachers have received extensive professional development on current methods to teach a second language and now our classrooms are changing to reflect those methods.

So, going forward now...

On parle de nos vies!
We talk about our lives

On parle français!
We speak French -- 90% of the time

You will hear French 90% of the time -- clearly and slowly, so you can understand
We will create fun stories together -- stories that help us learn
We will read our own stories and other readings that use some of the most frequently used words in French

We spend some of that 90%  writing in French, using the high-frequency words and phrases that we have heard so many we can remember them better and work on our spelling and grammar in French.

As we grow, we spend more and more of that 90% speaking that we can use the high-frequency words and phrases effortlessly and with little stress!

Attention!  Notez bien!

In a language class, your behavior is of the utmost importance.  You are expected to adhere to the highest standards of respectful, engaged, and attentive participation, in order to make possible both your learning and the learning of others in our class.

I treat my students with the highest respect and I expect respect from my students as well.

The number one rule in my class is to not interfere with learning--your own or others'.
