Welcome to 8th grade!

This is gonna be one exciting, jam-packed year!  Get ready to work hard!

Please check this website on a regular basis to keep informed of what is going on in the class and at school.  Any handouts in class as well as notes are available on this website.  They will also be available in Google Classroom and the student agenda.

The following are supplies needed for class:

  • At least THREE one subject notebooks, page size must be 8 1/2 by 11 (you might need more than three notebooks, but three will get you through the first semester)
Wish List if you would like to donate (and thank you!):
  • Black Sharpies
  • Highlighters
  • Glue sticks
  • Kleenex
  • Colored pencils
  • Markers
  • Binder

Please check back periodically for updates and important information.

Homework is always "Review your notes". Which means to read through what was written that day, highlighting important ideas, creating questions and summarizing.  Homework will sometimes also include directions to read ahead to be prepared for the following day.  IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS ARE COMPLETED ON TIME!!

The following is a calendar of current assignments as well as what we are covering in class.  Please note: dates can and will change due to pacing of class and outside factors in the school schedule.

Late work policy: students will have ONE WEEK to turn in a late assignment, with a point(s) deduction every day that it is late.  After the one week from the original due date, the assignment will NOT BE ACCEPTED.  Exceptions to the late policy are agenda signatures and parent responses; unless a student is absent on a Friday, they are NOT accepted late and will remain a zero.  Incomplete work is not accepted and will not be graded.

Please remind your student that if they are ever absent, it is their responsibility to check to see what they missed.  All lecture notes are linked to this page as we finish a section, or there are hard copies available in the classroom they may borrow.
