CARE Fair 2015

THANK YOU to everyone who came to the 1st whole school CDNIS CARE Fair!

On Friday, the 23rd of January, CDNIS held it's first whole school CARE Fair, where 30 non-governmental organizations shared their mission and ways in which the CDNIS community can get involved to address social justice and environmental issues.  In previous years, Upper School CAS Coordinator, Mr. Hamilton, and GIN supervisors, Ms. Hosick and Ms. Jong had organized CAS Fairs with NGOs visiting to give the more senior of the Upper School Students the chance to explore issues that could enhance their experience in the CAS programme.  This year, we expanded the Care Fair into the Lower School and used the opportunity to officially launch our Lower School House NGO Partners!

As a result of the strong legacy of service at CDNIS, this year's NGOs were especially impressed with the level of genuine concern, empathy and knowledge that the Lower & Upper School students brought with them - surely a testament to staff who encourage our students to act with their heart, over the years!

For comments & feedback, please fill out this short survey.

These are 30 NGOs that will be participating in our CDNIS community-wide CARE Fair from 9:30am - 1pm on Friday, 23rd January 2015 in the Leo Lee Arts Centre Lobby.

We invite all parents, alumni, staff & students to visit during those times to consider ways in which to support local & regional NGOs doing much-needed work for environmental & social development.  If you can't give your time by volunteering with these organizations, you can support them financially by buying their goods at the fair that help to raise further awareness about the issues they address.  There will also be a special CISPA Outreach Committee booth where students can find out ways in which their service learning objectives can apply for 'Outreach funds', and parents can find out more ways in which to be involved within the CDNIS community and beyond.

Please note that the following NGOs are our Lower School House partner NGOs (see page for the information) and will be busy presenting to the Grades 3 to 6 students in the Leo Lee Arts Centre Auditorium from 9:40 - 10:30am:
  • Raven: Clean Air Network / Hands-On Hong Kong
  • Orca: Plastic Free Seas / Feeding Hong Kong
  • Bear: ArkEden / Room to Read
  • Mountain Lion: Roots & Shoots / Kids4Kids
