The last day of school is rapidly approaching.  Please remember that if your child(ren) has any medications at school, they need to be picked up by Friday, May 29th.  No medications will be sent home with students, unless they have permission to self carry.  Medications may not be kept at school over the summer.  Any medication that is not picked up by May 29th will be disposed of per district policy.

Have a fun and safe summer!

Jump Rope for Heart

posted Jan 30, 2015, 1:46 PM by mary.cain@ccsdre1.org   [ updated Nov 20, 2015, 1:08 PM ]

The elementary school's health office is excited to announce our upcoming Jump Rope for Heart events with the American Heart Association.  The focus of this event is to get the students up and moving and learning about how to keep their heart healthy.  Donations are not required to participate, as the events will happen during PE on the dates below.  Money raised not only benefits the AHA, but also each schools PE program for equipment.  Students do receive prizes for the donations they receive, and the motivational rubber ducks have been a huge success.

King Murphy Event during PE classes on Wednesday, February 4th and Thursday, February 5th.
Carlson Event during PE classes on Tuesday, February 24th and Wednesday, February 25th.

Immunization Exclusion Dates

posted Jan 30, 2015, 1:13 PM by mary.cain@ccsdre1.org   [ updated Nov 20, 2015, 1:13 PM ]

For those students who are non-compliant on their school immunizations per CDE/CDC guidelines, notification letters followed by exemption letters have been sent home over the last three months.  In working with the principals, immunization exclusion dates have been set as below:

Carlson Elementary: Monday, February 2nd
CCMS/CCHS: Friday, February 6th
King Murphy Elementary: Wednesday, February 11th

On each of these dates a community health nurse will be available in Idaho Springs to provide the required immunizations.  If you have any questions regarding a notification you received, you can contact your school's health office or local community health office.

Current Ebola and Enterovirus information

posted Oct 6, 2014, 1:49 PM by mary.cain@ccsdre1.org   [ updated Nov 20, 2015, 1:14 PM ]

At the Clear Creek School District we are aware of the current community concerns of the illnesses that are in the news, Ebola and Enterovirus D68.  We want to reassure you that we work closely with the local community health office for any local concerns.  In each school-based health office we keep up to date on the latest recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Colorado Department of Education (CDE).  The staff who work in the school health office are aware of signs and symptoms to look for in our students and we do our best to protect ourselves and the students/staff each day.

Attached are two flyers, one is an Ebola fact sheet and the other is an Enterovirus flyer.  As with all illnesses, the best protection is frequent hand washing.

Health Office - end of the year reminders

posted May 6, 2014, 12:48 PM by mary.cain@ccsdre1.org   [ updated Nov 20, 2015, 1:09 PM ]

As the school year is coming to a close, please be reminded of the following items:

- If your child has medications in the health office, please remember to pick them up by June 2, 2014.  Any medications remaining after this time will be logged and disposed of as per state guidelines.

- It is a state statute that students must be in compliance with required immunizations.  Letters have been sent home notifying parents/guardians of specific non-compliance.  Over the summer it is recommended that you see your physician to confirm that your childs' immunizations are up to date.

- Have a wonderful and safe summer!
