Clarkstown South HS March 2018

Jennifer Enright was the first place scorer with Noel Lee, James Rung Ian Zobrist and Lisette Bermudez in second place on the March 2018 American Scholastic Mathematics Association monthly math league.

Noel Lee finished the March 2018 Rockland County Mathematics League competition in first place. Math League advisor is Charles Lee.

South High School celebrated 2018 Pi Day: Pi Goes to the Winter Olympics with a reception and awards ceremony in the South High School Upper Library Gallery on Pi Day, March 14., 2018 Mathematics Teachers judged the entries. Mad About Mu Editors Mia Dominick, Shreya Barua and Ryan Blinn are editing articles and planning the March 2018 issue of Mad About Mu.

The South High School Robotics Team competed at Rockland Community College the weekend of March 23-25 under the leadership of advisor Bruce Nickels. The team finished third at the regional competition.

Vrishin Sudaram won first place at the South High School annual Pi Eating Contest.

Twenty-one South students have been selected to compete at the 2018 Greater New York Metropolitan Mathematics Fair :Francesca Arciniegas. Aaron Bluzer, Margaux Castillo, Rachel ChungDanny Dwyer, Elizabeth Dwyer, Ryan Greene, Hannah Kim, Thomas Kreider, Ivan Lam, Esha Pandya, Arihant Pant, Thomas Qualter, Anusha Raihan, Meghan Ramundo, Luke Rogers, Jennifer, Saloutenko, Vrishin Sundaram, Liam Wanamaker, Katherine Wu, Julia Zhu. The students will be judged on oral presentations of their mathematics research papers at Brooklyn Tech High School on Sunday, April 29, 2018. Students selected to compete are in the mathematics honors classes taught by Meagan Bechard, Mary Ann Gavioli, John Guarino and Kerry Papenmeyer.
