Students will be introduced to an in-depth study of children from pre-birth through age five.  Children’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional development will be studied in detail, with emphasis on the toddler and the preschooler.  A nursery school component, KinderNorth, which is run in the high school classroom, will allow students the opportunity to plan and carry out activities for children in a supervised setting.  Students will interact and observe children in the preschool for a minimum of 18 hours during the semester.  Interaction with children is a strong focus of this course.
