About Mrs. Smith:

Mrs. Smith is proud to call CCPS her home.  As a student, she attended Salem Church Elementary, Gates Elementary, Salem Church Middle, and graduated for L.C. Bird High School.  She has spent her entire education career in CCPS schools and is excited her children also attend CCPS at Watkins Elementary (son Charlie) and Midlothian Middle (daughter Katherine). Even her husband is a product of CCPS, graduating from Monacan High School.  As a family, they love spending time together either at the beach or taking in a baseball game.

Mrs. Smith is passionate about promoting an inclusive environment for all students.  She believes inclusion is not something you do, it is something you believe.  As Coordinator of Special Education, she works with parents, teachers, support staff, and students to make positive inclusive environments for all students at Bettie Weaver Elementary.  She extends this passion to helping teachers in Haiti to develop the same environments at their schools.  She has, and continues to facilitate teacher professional development for the teachers in Gressier, Haiti during her summers.
