posted Nov 18, 2018, 3:07 PM by Laura Prymak   [ updated Nov 18, 2018, 3:08 PM ]
Hi Winterpock Families! Last week was a FUN week! We enjoyed breakfast with our grandparents, celebrated our PTA Reflections participants and winners, and enjoyed reading positive chalk messages in honor of World Kindness Day! Many thanks to our PTA for their help with these special events! We also had an exciting Friday as we hosted six grade level Boosterthon Fun Runs in the gym! If you follow me on Twitter (@WPESPrincipal), you can see photos highlighting our week! Week eleven was exciting! We look forward to a terrific week twelve of school with your children!

Here are a few updates and reminders:

*Boosterthon Update: WOW! We exceeded our goal of raising $40,000 and the top earner in each class got to silly string me on Friday! We had so much fun! Boosterthon will be stopping by this Tuesday to hand out additional prizes that have been earned by our students. Please let your child’s classroom teacher know if your child did not get a prize that they should have received. I’ll let you know the final amount that was raised after my post-program meeting on November 26th. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THAT YOU DID TO SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM!

*Report Cards: Report cards came home last Friday! Please keep the color copy for your records and sign and return the black and white copy to your child’s teacher. Our students are working hard, and we are so proud of them!

*No School on Wednesday-Friday: School will be closed on Wednesday, November 21st through Friday, November 23rd. We have a short week with two full days of school on Monday and Tuesday. Please write a note and send it in your child’s daily folder if there are any changes for dismissal. Thanks!

*Lost & Found: If you haven’t already, stop by the “Lost & Found” in the cafeteria! There are several coats and sweatshirt that have been found!

*2018-2019 MS-ISAC “Kids Safe Online” Poster Contest: Students in grades kindergarten through twelve are invited to participate in the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Kids Safe Online Poster contest. The contest is sponsored by the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) in conjunction with the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC). This is a national contest which encourages our youth to use the Internet safely and securely. Attached are the official rules, entry form and information regarding the poster topics and technical specifications. MS-ISAC-Poster-Contest-and-Form.pdf
