Kindergarten Parent Information Session

posted Aug 9, 2018, 12:26 PM by Laura Prymak
Hi Winterpock Kindergarten Parents! We are busy preparing to welcome your children, our newest Wolfpack members! While reflecting on the format of Kindergarten Orientation, our Kindergarten teachers decided to try something new this year!

In case you didn't know, Kindergarten Orientation is on Thursday, August 30th from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Typically, this is a very busy time where you rush in to meet the teacher, drop off supplies, and fill out a bunch of paperwork! Our goal is to help Kindergarten Orientation run a little smoother and allow the focus of this time to be on exploring the classroom and meeting your child's teacher. Also, we recognize that many of you have general and specific questions during this time…and that you often feel like you just don't have enough time to talk to the teacher.

To help make this process smoother for everyone, we are offering a Kindergarten Parent Information Session on Monday, August 27th at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. During this time, our eight Kindergarten teachers will present a slide presentation that walks you through the day of a Kindergarten student. They will share logistical information about arrival, lunch, the schedule, transportation, communication, dismissal, and many other unique routines that are related to Kindergarten. Our PTA will share about volunteering, favor fees, and other pertinent information. You will be able to pick up your “Beginning of the Year” packet of forms during this session allowing you to fill these forms out prior to Kindergarten Orientation that Thursday! There will be an opportunity for you to ask questions as well!

We recommend that only parents attend this particular session. (You will not find out your child’s specific teacher until the following evening on August 28th via a recorded phone message.)

Again, this a general information session for all Kindergarten parents to learn the logistics of Winterpock! We hope you will join us!

Fondly,

Karen Dubiel, Principal
