Karen Dubiel

Hello Wolves! I am thrilled to become a member of the Winterpock family and serve the children of this fine community as principal! I am humbled to work with such a caring and dedicated staff that continually strives to provide the best learning opportunities for all students.

My career in education began in Hanover County as a first grade teacher in 2000 after earning my B.A. in Sociology, Early Childhood Education, and Dance from JMU. I served as a first and second grade teacher for four years at Henry Clay Elementary prior to transitioning to Chesterfield County. I was as a second grade teacher at Salem Church Elementary for two years and a fifth grade teacher at Robious Elementary for one year. During my tenure as a classroom teacher, I earned my M.Ed. in Reading Education from UVA. This led me to serve the children of Colonial Heights in five schools as the Division K-12 Instructional Specialist-Reading Coach for six years. With the dream of returning to one elementary school, I completed my Ed.S. in Administration & Supervision from UVA. From 2013-2017, I served as assistant principal at Laurel Meadow Elementary in Hanover County. I am ecstatic to be back home in Chesterfield!

I am a native of Hampton, VA and currently reside in Midlothian, VA with my husband, Jeff, soon to be 8-year-old daughter, Mollee, and 6-year-old son, Will. You will find me on the soccer field as a volunteer coach for FC Richmond or putting up over 20,000 Christmas lights on our house! We love going to the beach, playing outside, reading books together, and cheering for the Red Sox!

As a school community, we look forward to partnering with our parents to ensure that each student has an amazing year of learning! Every parent is encouraged to become a member of the Winterpock Team by joining the PTA, attending school events, and/or being a volunteer. Together, as a “pack” we can make a positive impact!

Thank you so much for your support! Please feel free to email me at karen_dubiel@ccpsnet.net or call me at (804) 763-5051 if I can assist you with anything.

Assistant Principal

Hello Winterpock Families! I am thrilled to be joining the Wolf team as the new Assistant Principal. I am very excited to be working with such a dedicated and hardworking staff to make sure every student is engaged and challenged daily.

After graduating from Longwood University, my educational career began in Henrico County where I served as a second, third, and fourth grade teacher for six years. During this time, I earned my M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University. Next, I moved into the role of Resource Teacher for two years before relocating with my family for a brief stint in Northern VA working as a third grade teacher for Alexandria City. Fortunately, we were brought back to Richmond, and I returned to Henrico County as an Associate Principal for the last three years.

I grew up in Midlothian, graduating from Clover Hill! My husband Matt, my 4 year old daughter Madison, my soon-to-be 2 year old son Jackson, and I recently moved back to the Midlothian area. As a family, we love being outside, going to the beach, reading books, and just enjoying time together.

I am looking forward to working with each of you to ensure all of our students are academically, emotionally, socially supported, and encouraged.
Please feel free to email me at natalie_bare@ccpsnet.net or call me at (804) 763-5051 if I can help with anything.

Jennifer Malcolm
Dean of Students

I am very excited to be on the administrative team for the second year as the Dean of Students. Prior to being in this position, I taught at Winterpock in both 5th grade CBG and 4th grade. I also taught 4th and 5th grade in Richmond City and Chesterfield County for 10 years before staying home with my girls for seven years. I am originally from Long Island, NY and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Buffalo State College. After teaching for several years, I earned my Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from VCU.

I've been married to my husband, Wayne, for 14 years.  My identical twin daughters, Alyssa and Amanda, are in 7th grade.  Most of our free time is spent volunteering at the local children’s theater group our girls are involved in. I do carve out time every day to read though. There is nothing better than getting caught up in a good book! I also love Disney and it’s my family’s number one vacation spot.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me at jennifer_malcolm@ccpsnet.net or 763-5051 if there is anything I can help with. I am really looking forward to working with the students, staff and families of Winterpock again. It’s going to be a great year!
