Prom 2018

Parents of Juniors and Seniors who wish to attend Prom:

The Thomas Dale prom will be held on Friday April 13th from 7:00 – 11:00 at VSU. Students are required to buy a ticket in advance.  

Tickets will be on sale next week:  Tuesday, March 27th through Thursday, March 29th

  • Tickets are $20 per person
  • Tickets will be sold during lunches (Main Campus only) and before school in Main Campus room 309.
  • Junior and/or Senior** dues are $25 each and must be paid before purchasing a prom ticket
  • Any class fees from the student’s current class schedule that have not been paid, will need to be paid prior to purchasing a prom ticket
  • As a bonus, students who buy their tickets the week before spring break will have their names included on a memory tag in the decorations at the Prom!

**Seniors: In order to buy a prom ticket for this year, you must have paid your junior class dues from last year, whether you attended prom or not. If you did not pay your Junior class dues last year, you will need to pay them ($25) this year, as well as your Senior dues in order to purchase a ticket. 

Dues and class fees may be paid during enrichment in the main office at either building, or in the lunch room during lunches. If paying in person, we can only accept checks or cash for the exact amount.  Senior class dues and class fees may also be paid on-line at https://osp.osmsinc.com/ChesterfieldVA with a debit or credit card.

Bringing a Guest to prom (someone other than an 11th or 12th grade TDHS student):       

  • 9th graders cannot attend
  • 10th graders can only attend as the date of an 11th or 12th grader
  • 10th graders and any dates from outside of Thomas Dale must have a guest form completed
  • Guest forms are available in the office and have to be returned to Mr. Hughes in room 309 before a ticket can be purchased for the guest
  • The last day for guest forms to be turned in is April 9th

Tickets will also be on sale Tuesday, April 10th - Thursday, April 12th during lunches at main campus, but it’s highly recommended that you purchase your ticket before Spring Break. Absolutely no tickets will be sold after 12:15pm on Thursday, April 12th. No exceptions.

English 10 Writing SOL 3/12 & 3/15

The English 10 Writing SOL is a two-part SOL that will be administered on Monday, March 12th (Multiple-Choice) and Thursday, March 15th (Direct Prompt). Students enrolled in English 10 will be testing during an extended 2nd block on these days, with ALL students testing at the same time. Chromebooks will be used for testing.




P1: 7:20 A.M. - 7:40 A.M.  (7:37 A.M.*)

P2: 7:45 A.M. - 10:12 A.M. (10:09 A.M.*)


  • All English 10 classes will be testing at the same time during P2

P3: 10:17 A.M. - 12:10 P.M. (12:07 P.M.*)

P4: 12:15 P.M. - 1:50 P.M. (1:45 P.M.*)

SOL Academy Information

The SOL Academies for Science, Social Studies and Math will be offered again, January 22-25 at Bird HS, January 29-February 1 at Manchester HS and February 5-8 at Meadowbrook HS. 
These sessions are free and transportation is provided from Thomas Dale. For more detailed information, please contact your student's school counselor or visit mychesterfieldschools.com, click the STUDENTS link at the top, then click the SOL/W!SE link on the left. 

English 11 Reading SOL

On January 24th and 25th, the Reading SOL will be administered to students currently enrolled in English 11, based on EVEN/ODD days.  There will be an adjusted bell schedule on these two days, with an extended 2nd period.  Testing will begin at 7:50am on both days. Chromebooks will be used for testing so it is extremely important that students charge their Chromebooks the night before they are scheduled to test.  
Students are expected to report to school and their testing location on time. well rested and prepared to test.  Early dismissals will not be allowed from a testing location.
