Administration

Mrs. Monique Booth, Principal

It is an honor to serve as the Principal at Salem Church Elementary. Dedicated to the field of education for nearly 15 years, my career has encompassed a variety of experiences to include, most recently, Assistant Principal at Providence Middle School for four years, Exceptional Education Liaison from central office for three years and a special education teacher at AM Davis Elementary and Bettie Weaver Elementary for over five years.  I received a Bachelor of Science in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology from Old Dominion University, a Master’s in Special Education from Virginia State University and a Post-Master’s in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.

When school is not in session, I enjoy spending time with my family.  Some of our favorite hobbies include camping, hanging out by the pool and traveling.  My most recent trip combined the three, as my family traveled to Lake Lure, North Carolina for summer vacation.  Reading is another way I enjoy spending a little quiet time.  My favorite children’s book is The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt.

I am excited to be in partnership with the staff, students, parents and community to ensure all students are provided a safe and supportive environment to achieve their best. My personal educational challenge is to foster a learning environment where we provide high-quality instruction and engagement to every child every minute of every day. Together, we will create a year of excellence for our Salem Stars. If there is anything that I can do please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I look forward to serving the Salem Church Elementary students, staff, parents and community.

“We are STARS...Together WE Shine”

Mrs. Emily McCracken, Assistant Principal

I am beyond excited to be the Assistant Principal at Salem Church Elementary School! Having grown up in Chesterfield County, I have a deep affection for the people and community we serve.

I began my journey in education attending the University of Richmond for my Undergraduate degree, earning my Bachelors in Psychology and Elementary Education.  Go Spiders! I returned to UofR to pursue Masters Degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership.

I’ve had the privilege to work in Chesterfield County as a classroom teacher at Watkins Elementary, and an Administrative Assistant at Evergreen Elementary.  While teaching and leading, I was afforded many opportunities to work with students of various needs. I absolutely love working with children who need extra love and support.  I truly believe that all students are capable of success when given the right opportunities.  My goal is to foster an engaging learning environment where students develop positive social skills, are comfortable taking academic risks, and celebrate their victories in and out of the classroom. All of our Salem Church students should reach for the STARS

In my free time I like to stay active and be around my friends and family.  I am always training for some sort of a race, mud run, or obstacle course challenge.   I am often out and about in the community taking advantage of all the wonderful festivals, cuisine, sports and music Richmond has to offer.

I look forward to the year ahead and partnering with all the wonderful staff, students, and community members in the Salem Church family! Please don’t hesitate to contact me should you need anything at all!
