Letter from the Principal

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! If you are a returning RAM, welcome back! If you are new to Providence, we are excited you are here! We have so much to celebrate. This year will mark our 50th year of educating students. Be sure to check the website throughout the year for anniversary celebrations and events.

Providence Middle School opened its doors to students in September, 1968. That year Providence Junior High School welcomed 990 students in seventh, eighth, and ninth grades. The student body chose the RAM as the school mascot, and decided the school colors would be black and gold. As we close out our last phase of construction and students enter our newly renovated building on September 4, 2018, we begin the journey of the next 50 years.

At Providence Middle School, we believe in maintaining a high level of achievement for all students. As a result, we are fully accredited and offer comprehensive and competitive courses, such as Inventions and Innovations and Make It Your Business.  Our students will graduate college and career ready to engage as a productive citizen. We meet this by offering students the opportunity to receive high school credit prior to entering ninth grade. By offering opportunities such as Model UN, Rise, and RAMpage, our after school enrichment program,  we increase student engagement and personal growth through the demonstration of knowledge and gaining necessary skills that tap into student interests. We have so many new opportunities and exciting things for our students to be a part of and we can’t wait to get started! We look forward to partnering with you!
