Events for Prospective James River High School Students

Rams to Rapids is a two part event, to get prospective James River High School students from Providence Middle School excited and ready for high school. This amazing opportunity will give you and your Eighth Graders a chance to communicate with students, teachers, admin, and counseling at JRHS.

The first night is a club fair that will feature a host of academic, sports, and other extracurricular activities that students can participate in at James River High School. This event will be on Tuesday, February 13, 2018  6:30pm-8pm at Providence Middle School 900 Starlight Ln, Richmond, VA 23235 in the gymnasium

The second night will be a forum for parents and students to come learn, in groups, about the academic opportunities JRHS has to offer. In this discussion we will cover information such as school expectation, freshman scheduling,the balancing act of high school, and Q&A. This event is Saturday, February 17, 2018 5pm-6:30pm at James River High School 3700 James River Rd, Midlothian, VA 23113 in the lower commons.

Bus Change

  • If you are riding a different bus home with another student, we must have two note:

         One from your parent and one from your friend’s parent. These notes must be turned

         Into the main office in the morning. You will received your Bus Change permission form

         at lunch time.

Intramural Sport Activities

  • Please Note: If you are not planning to try out for a team sport, intramural sports activities are also available.  Intramural sport activities are offered after school, are free, and include but are not limited to flag football, basketball, fitness and weight lifting, tennis, volleyball, and indoor and outdoor soccer.  A sports physical is not necessary to participate in intramural sports.  However, we must have a signed Intramural Sports Permission Form on file along with a signed concussion form.  These forms can be found in the front office or with your gym teacher.

School  office hours:   7:00-3:00

School  clinic hours:   7:35-2:05

Medication accepted by the clinic during clinic hours only.

Please note:  the doorbell is not answered after 3:00 when the office closes.

Sports Physical & Concussion Form

Please use these forms when getting a sports physical.  They are needed to try-out for any organized sport at PVMS.
